its been quite awhile since ive last blogged...i just couldnt motivate myself...with all that happens around the holidays. but they are over...so im gonna try to keep you updated on my boring life. its part of my new years resolution. (more about those another time).

BC Cleanup!

brie -vs- nature

ok...so i just went on a walk with my mom and stepdad across their golf course. it was very nice weather outside, and BEAUTIFUL scenery.




other than the MILLIONS of hills...it was very plesent. on our way home, we encountered a little visitor.




i know you cant really see it, but i wasnt getting any closer...it was a CORAL snake!! (aka:very venomous)

so...im done playing nature girl! when we got home, i was out of breath, freaked out and totally covered in sweat. gross!

ON A LIGHTER NOTE: i am going to Greune tomorrow! i am in love with that town...and i get to go with kari and ashlyn and my mom! i'll take lots of pictures and post them tomorrow.

dress your wedding

ok...so being the increduble dork that i am...i have started designing my wedding online! yeah, i know....i kinda need a groom! o'well...a girl can dream! check out what i've done.

home sweet home

as many of you know, my apartment was totally destroyed in the aftermath of hurricane rita. with that in mind, before we left, tiffani and i annointed our appartment and prayed over it, asking for God's protection. I could not go through being homeless again.

when we got back into jefferson county, we immediatly went to the complex to check on things. uppon arrival...this is what saw.



this picture was taken from our building. it shows the 4 buildings across from us...all ruined.

OUR HOUSE WAS COMPLETLY UNTOUCHED!!!

there are 9 buildings in the back, ours being the very center. the 4 building shown above were devestated. our building and the one next to it were spared. the 3 after that look just like the picture above!

GOD totally showed up and protected our home...while showing us how amazing he was because there was so much destruction around us. my heart goes out to those whos homes are destroyed...know that you are in my prayers and i know what you are feeling. i went through it in 2005!!

i will blog about a similar situation later on after i confirm details....let's just say GOD IS IN CONTROL!!

well...i chickened out and decided not to stay. i came to bastrop with my mommy and im gonna be here til the lights are on back home.

what day is it?

its funny...this happened after rita. i have NO clue what day it is. i guess when you have no schedule to follow, the days just run together. also, i find myself getting tired at like 8:30pm after waking up at like 8:00am! SOOOOO not my normal schedule.

well, as of right now, we are still at harvest in jasper. not sure if we are staying for another night or headed home. i just got word that when we do go home, we will be at the mid county campus instead of bmt. thats good for me. it's "home". also, alot of bc people are gonna be there too because they have lost their houses. thats when i start to feel bad. i havent "lost" anything this time. i just have no generator for power.

i also want to thank everyone who has checked on me and encouraged me. i love everyone of you!

frustration...

i am beyond frustrated and confused on whats going on in this crazy thing called life. IKE has totally destroyed our area and made our lives halt. I cannot work or even go to my own house for AT LEAST two weeks. i dont think people really understand that. all i brought was a few sets of clothes and my computer, ipod, camera, etc.

i am staying in our sister church in jasper tonight...harvest. thank God for pastor gary. we were trying to get home and werent able to get there before curfew. Had he not opened his doors, we would most likely be sleeping in the car tonight. im not 100% sure where i/we are staying after tonight. i feel like a homeless person. bumming places to sleep. there is talk that our beaumont campus will be doing relief work again. if that is true, we will stay there and work. i need to DO something. ive also heard rumors that the mayors of jefferson county are going to make everyone leave do to the lack of resources in our area. if THAT is true, i will either go to dallas or bastrop with my mom. i dont mind either, but i wanna be around people from home who understand what i am going through. no that my mom wouldnt...but there are quite a few triumph-ites in the dallas area. as cara said, we are all going through this together and we need to stick together to get through it.

on a ?positive? note...i think i got approved for FEMA. If so, i want to use the $$ to get a new car. i had to leave mine behind and i know it got some damage from the water. not sure the extent though. i am still trying to apply for red cross. also, disaster unemployment. this is soooo crazy, because we JUST did this 3 years ago!! and from what reports show, this area is becoming a hurricane magnet.

well, sorry for the rambling. i just have SO much swimming through my head. thats pretty much why i created this blog. so, read it or not. it helps me.
